red deer

First of all, knowledge & behaviour of red deer rutting is an important factor to photographing the red deer rut  I will have found the best places the red deer gather. In general the best time is at dawn. This time of day also coincides with the peak deer activity, We will focus upon capturing images of the red deer

We start early tracking the red deer at around 7.00am. Throughout the course I will offer tuition on how to best photograph these animals along with any other guidance required

You will need to bring with you. A digital SLR camera and a lens with a focal length of 300mm to 400mm would be ideal. Zoom lenses of 75-300mm or 100-400mm should give acceptable pictures, A tripod is essential

Windproof / waterproof jacket, if possible in muted or dark colours. Good footwear is essential as there will be a reasonable amount of walking as the deer park is fairly large and the animals will move around all over the place
